How to predict YouTube search volume accurately...
You can predict which long tail keywords have the most search traffic on YouTube...
Let me quickly explain why this works, and then I’ll show you how to do it.
Have you ever thought about how you search at Google or YouTube?
Do you ever click on the search suggestions?
Or do you just type in your keyword and hit Enter?
Some people almost always prefer to click them.
My mom is like that.
In fact, my mom will type a few letters, look up to see what suggestions are showing, and then type a few more letters, until she sees a suggestion she likes.
Then, she’ll click on one of the search suggestions.
I’ve even seen her start her search over when she doesn’t see suggestions that she likes.
Then there are the 50-50’s.
Sometimes they use search suggestions, and sometimes they don’t.
Then there are the rarely-evers.
They put their cursor in the search box, and just type out their keyword and hit enter.
They don't care what the suggestions are and usually don't even look at them.
Everybody's a little different.
But the 50-50's and the rarely-evers are the people who create all the new keyword suggestions.
The size of the audience determines how many 50-50's and rarely-evers there are.
So, when more people are interested in a topic, more search suggestions are created.
On a quick side note...it seems to take about 300 searches from different users for a keyword to become a search suggestion at YouTube.
Once a search suggestion is created, it remains a suggestion as long as it keeps getting searched every month.
So, every search suggestion represents search volume.
Here’s how to figure out which long tail keywords have the most search volume:
Step 1: Go to YouTube and put in your keyword, then count the search suggestions.
Only count suggestions that contain the same keyword and have words to the right.
If there are more than 13 suggestions, go to Step 2...
Step 2: Type “a”...”b”...”c”...to "z" after the keyword to see how many additional suggestions show up.
Pay close attention to how many of the suggestions still contain the original keyword.
One more thing.
Sometimes YouTube will give modifier only suggestions.
Like this:
Notice how these suggestions start with 3 dots (... ) and don’t contain the original keyword.
Don't count these, as they're just modifier suggestions.
Now, here’s the best part.
Repeat these steps with another keyword you're interested in.
Then compare the results and you'll know which keyword has more search volume.
See how that works?
Keywords with more suggestions are keywords with more search volume.
This is especially helpful if you’re just starting out on YouTube.
Long tail keywords are much easier to rank for.
Use this method to find keywords that are easy to rank for so you can get your message out.
Then, as your YouTube channel grows, you can continue to target keywords that are more competitive and have more search volume.
Even popular YouTube channels can use this method to find the most popular individual topics to include in a single video.
You’ll know which information your audience is searching for, so you can deliver more great content to them.
Having said that, there are two things to keep in mind about this method...
First, you have to know which keywords to compare.
You have to think up good keywords to check. And the results depend on how good you were at coming up with those keywords.
Second, you can only count the top level suggestions.
That's not a problem, as long as the market or topic has a small audience.
But, when you want to target bigger topics, you can't count all the suggestions below the top level. It takes too long.
TubeXPlore™ will uncover all the keywords in your market and count all the suggestions for you automatically.
That means you can predict Youtube search volume accurately, for any keyword.
Using TubeXPlore, you can find great YouTube keywords so you can get more views, clicks, and traffic.
