How To Group Your Keyword Lists (And Keep The Data For Each Keyword)
Someone asked a great question about grouping keywords and keeping the data associated with those keywords in place. This can be search volume data, or cpc data, or anything you need to keep with your keyword lists.
It's actually fairly easy to do this, using a combination of our free software tool, KeywordGrouper Pro and Excel (or any spreadsheet program that you like to use).
Why You Should Be Grouping Your Keywords
If you're not currently grouping your keywords, you should be. By grouping keywords, you can lower your cost per click, and you can make sure you're getting targeted traffic. Oftentimes, the difference between these keyword groups and CPC data can be a huge savings. If you're able to lower your CPC by having more targeted landing pages and offers, then you'll be able to scale your traffic efforts and get a better ROI on every campaign.
I got a great question from one of our users of Keyword Grouper Pro and the question was how do you group keywords but keep additional information like search volume and cost per click data that's associated with a specific keyword intact so I'm going to show you really easily how to do that first of all you can just take all the keywords in the keyword column and copy those and then you'll paste them into keyword Grouper Pro I'll set a minimum group length of two and I'll click on processed keywords and now I have my groups now what I'm going to do is I'm going to copy this first group here I'll come back to Excel and I'm going to go ahead and just paste it here in Excel so this is just the group keywords here I will highlight sell a or column a and I'll click on conditional formatting highlight cells duplicate values so now my group keywords are pink or red and so are these original terms then all I need to do is just select the all the cells here with the data then all I have to do is click on data and sort I'll sort by the keyword column I'll sort on cell color I'll use the cell color that we highlighted then I'll set search volume and I'll do largest to smallest okay so what happens now is because these were the group keywords and these are the original keywords they're both you know now sorted then I just come back here and I just delete these additional keywords now what I have is I have my tips keywords here these are all the tips keywords there now in the group they're sorted by search volume from largest to smallest and the cost per click data so this is how you create groups of keywords where you also need to keep additional data intact that's associated with the individual keywords that's a really really easy way to kind of group a large list of keywords where you also need to keep like search volume cost per click or any other information you need from your Excel spreadsheet and you need to keep that together if you don't already have a free copy of keyword group of Pro I'll put a link down below in the comment section you can click that link and you can download this software so you can start grouping all your keywords and start getting better targeted traffic to your landing pages into your offers.
